Experience

With 30 years of experience, Véronique Pede is a seasoned intellectual property litigator specializing in patents, designs, trademarks, and advertising law in engineering, food, pharmaceuticals, biotech, chemicals, machinery and software. As the founder of CAPE IP Law —now part of Gevers— she continues to provide strategic legal advice and litigation support in complex IP cases.

Throughout her career, Véronique has successfully represented clients in major cases, including:

  • Patent litigation before the UPC.
  • Trademark and unfair competition litigation before the European Court of Justice.
  • Cross-border patent disputes, including referral to the Belgian Constitutional Court.
  • Complex distribution, franchise and trademark litigation.
  • High-stakes biotech patent litigations and arbitration.
  • Design litigation leading to EU-wide injunctions.
  • Trademark strategy and litigation for breweries, including Anton Piller orders and negotiations.

Recognized for her hands-on, business-minded approach, Véronique is described by clients as “extremely knowledgeable, cost-conscious, and dedicated to achieving the best outcomes.”

She is an active member of AIPPI and UNION IP and is currently President of the Union IP Litigation Commission.
