Pieter’s practice mainly focuses on IP strategy in the broad sense. He advises clients on all aspects of IP strategies that align with their overall business objectives and manages complex international IP portfolios for his clients. Over the years, Pieter has built extensive expertise in copyright, designs, software, patents, trade secrets, trademarks, and other IP rights, with a specific focus on value building for his clients.
In addition, Pieter is active in the field of Benelux, EU, and international trademark strategies across a wide range of sectors. This includes advising clients on all aspects of trademark registration and trademark proceedings, as well as enforcement through opposition, invalidity, and infringement actions, and drafting and negotiating global trademark-related agreements.
Pieter also advises on commercial transactions relating to the acquisition, licensing, and exploitation of intellectual property rights. He has extensive experience in drafting and negotiating complex national and cross-border intellectual property agreements.
Pieter is an experienced speaker in the field of intellectual property, particularly IP strategy. He is also a regular guest lecturer at the University of Antwerp, Hasselt University, and Artevelde University of Applied Sciences in Ghent.
