Experience

Marco has more than twenty years of experience in the field of intellectual property. He began his career in industry at EMS-Chemie, where he worked as a project manager developing new PA12-based composite materials and bringing them to market. He then joined the European Patent Office in Munich, serving as an examiner from 1999 to 2006 and gaining a strong technical and procedural understanding of the European patent system.

He moved into private practice in Belgium in 2007, first as Head of the Patent Department at Office Kirkpatrick until 2009, and subsequently as a Partner at BiiP from 2009 to 2015. Since 2015, Marco has been a founding partner at P&P, where he advises clients on patent strategy, prosecution and protection, drawing on his extensive background both inside and outside the EPO.

Alongside his professional practice, he has been a Flying Tutor at CEIPI (University of Strasbourg) since 2008, regularly teaching European patent law and sharing his practical experience with future patent professionals.
