Experience

Kris Viaene holds a Master’s degree and a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Leuven (Belgium). He has over 30 years of experience at Agfa NV, where he initially served as an R&D Manager and subsequently as an IP Manager. His technical expertise spans membranes for green hydrogen production, conductive polymers for electronic applications, inkjet inks (particularly for printed circuit board (PCB) applications), printing plates, and imaging technologies.

He has extensive experience in patent drafting and prosecution, patent enforcement and defense, and preparing freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses. In close collaboration with R&D teams, he has also been actively involved in identifying and developing patentable inventions aligned with business objectives.
