Experience

Isabelle Surdej is passionate about creating robust intellectual property strategies for her clients, combining her expertise in patent prosecution and drafting with a keen focus on patentability assessments and innovation protection.

She has significant experience preparing and managing complex patent portfolios, leveraging her technical expertise in physics, optics, mechanics, electronics, ICT, and computer-implemented inventions.

With experience in both private practice and as an in-house IP manager, Isabelle has gained a strong understanding of the practical and strategic sides of patent portfolio management. She enjoys helping align intellectual property strategies with business goals, ensuring innovations are well-protected, and guiding internal teams through IP challenges.

Additionally, Isabelle is a tutor at Maastricht University, where she prepares candidates for the European Qualifying Examination (EQE).

She also supports clients in patent prosecution and oppositions and appeals.

Her clients include national and international corporations, universities, research centers, and consultancy and law firms, for whom she delivers tailored patent services to meet their innovation goals.
